RL Heath is the author of two series that couldn't be more different — and somehow both feel like home. Where the Two Moons Rise, Book One of The Unmaking series, is an epic fantasy steeped in myth, old gods, and horror, following characters through stakes that stretch across lifetimes. Dust on the Vine, Book One of The Tangled Root Mysteries, trades ancient pantheons for small-town secrets: a cozy witch mystery starring Rowan Merritt, a hedge witch and apothecary owner solving crimes with the confidence of a woman who's already lived enough life to know herself.
Both manuscripts are complete and working their way through the publishing process — not yet available — while RL is already writing Paper and Bone, a companion novella set in the world of The Unmaking, alongside Vortex and Vine, the second Tangled Root mystery.
Outside of writing, RL is usually elbow-deep in some other kind of making. She'd argue it's all the same instinct: start with a pattern, follow it until it surprises you, and don't be afraid to rip out a few rows and start over.
Tangled Root Press (Tangled Root Publishing LLC) is an independent publishing imprint bringing bold, character-driven fiction to readers — from the myth-soaked epic fantasy of The Unmaking series to the small-town charm of The Tangled Root Mysteries.
